Soweto TV, South Africa’s beloved community television station, has announced its newest Head of Channel – Mandla Ncinitwa, who’s been a part of the station’s journey from creating thought-provoking content to pioneering a groundbreaking podcast called Street Radio back in 2010. Amidst a time of governance issues and staff unrest, Ncinitwa has managed to stabilize the station’s schedule, resulting in growth in viewership numbers. He has also introduced fresh new talent and a youth training program to empower the people of Soweto to share their stories in a dignified manner.

Soweto TV also recently forged an uplifting partnership with VW Soweto, which includes supporting small and medium enterprises. With an array of programs, such as Soweto Today – a weekday current affairs show, and a new motoring show to air from May 2023, Soweto TV promises to keep viewers engaged with riveting content that deepens democracy and builds communities.
