Afrikan Roots returns to The South African State Theater for an exclusive Unplugged Session…

Roots Kooperative and The South African State Theatre have yet again collaborated to bring Afro House lovers and Afrikan Roots’ supporters an Unplugged Session with a 14 piece band on Saturday the 4th of February 2023. From years of travelling the world and filing venues in countries like Botswana, Mozambique, Angola, Kenya, Portugal and the United Kingdom just to name a few, Afrikan Roots is excited at the opportunity to serve the audience with Music for the souls. The band recently celebrated 10 Years Of Akan Roots with a once in a lifetime experience at the Opera Theatre which gave birth to the idea of unplugged sessions.

Afrika’s finest house music band will be collaborating with various artists at the Drama Theatre of the largest theatre complex in Africa, to bring you their music time signature 4468 with flavor. Artists such as Lizwi, Mckenzie, Zano, Zulu Naja, Andy Boi, Dj Fortee, Dj Regalo Joints, Trendy L, Refentse Mabaso, Dihno and many more will be featured to bring you a musical journey aimed at connecting the audience back to their roots.

Roots Kooperative, a music institution braces itself on creating a platform for musicians to start their careers through Afrikan Roots. Founded in 2010 by the versatile Percussionist Nyeks(Kenneth Manyemula), the four-member-band comprised of music maestros, Disc Jockeys and producer Siar Maspila(Katlego Mabasa), Dj Mosco(Musa Mmotsa) and Multi-instrumentalist Arafat Mphahlele.
