The Big Up Awards 2025 took place on the 23rd of August at the Harry Gwala Multi Purpose Sport Centre in Sasolburg, bringing together leaders, innovators and change-makers under one roof. As an entity based in Gauteng, we were honored to be invited by the Bakwena Royal House, who partnered with us on the venue and décor. The warmth of Sasolburg was truly felt as we were graciously accommodated by the Abbaqua Royal House, making the experience all the more special. The evening carried a regal air, with the presence of the Royal House of Eswatini adding dignity and significance to the celebration. Guests and nominees gathered to recognize individuals who are shaping their industries and inspiring their communities, proving that excellence and impact can emerge from all corners of society. A total of 16 nominees were honored across diverse categories. Among them were Ntsako for Business Pioneer, Pamela Niemand and Edward Nkosi as Future Leaders, Uyanda Hlangabezo for Fashion Forward, Professor Leepile for Positive Mental Health, and Coach Ben for Fitness and Wellness. The Beauty Innovation category celebrated Alinda, while Ngobile was recognized as an Inspirational Influencer and Xoli Thee Mc as an Inspirational Speaker. Other honorees included Dan Ndlovu and Onthatile Present for Literary Luminary, Mr. C. Makuwe and Thobile for Financial Innovation, and Mabi Molefi for Diversity and Inclusion. The Music Producer award went to CJB JNR, Culinary Explorer was awarded to Jankie, and Life Lately with Nozi was celebrated as the Inspiring Podcast of the year. The Big Up Awards 2025 were not just about recognition, but about honoring dreams, resilience and creativity.
