The city of Pretoria is in shock and grief as news of the tragic death of popular DJ, MC, and comedian Peter Mashata Mabuse spreads through the community. The multi-talented artist was gunned down in the early hours of Sunday morning, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, music, and unity.
 
Mashata, a close friend of the late DJ Sumbody, was reportedly shot near Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Soshanguve. Despite being rushed to Akasia Hospital, he sadly succumbed to his injuries, leaving fans and loved ones devastated.
 
 
Gugulethu Ngobeni, a close relative, confirmed Mashata’s passing and requested privacy during this difficult time. The family has since asked for space and shared that funeral details would be forthcoming.
 
The South African entertainment industry has been rocked by this loss, with fellow artists like Cassper Nyovest speaking out against the ongoing issue of gun violence in the country. “These are people’s kids, fathers, brothers, and sisters that are senselessly getting killed,” Nyovest wrote, urging for an end to the violence that continues to claim lives and talents like Mashata Mabuse.
