The Masked
Singer South Africa Season 3 finale was a proper wow moment, with the fantastic four, Gogga, Chopsticks, Mosquito and Spotty, leaving everything on the stage. The first face-off saw Mosquito take on Chopsticks, with Mosquito coming out on top before the mask was lifted to reveal Robot Boii, while Chopsticks was unveiled as the fabulous Khanyi Mbau. Spotty then went head-to-head with Gogga, who was revealed as the legendary Afro-jazz singer Judith Sephuma, but it was Spotty who secured her place in the final.
Then came the battle we did not know we needed. Spotty and Mosquito went all out in their final performance of Drive by Black Coffee and David Guetta, and honestly, they killed it. The performance had the detectives and viewers fully invested, with Somizi even calling it one of the best finales. Mosquito was revealed as Robot Boii, while Spotty was finally unmasked as none other than Bontle Modiselle. Somizi was the only detective to correctly identify Bontle, while J’Something, Sithelo Shozi and Skhumba Hlophe had different guesses.
And just like that, Spotty reigned victorious and Bontle Modiselle walked away with the Golden Mask. But there was another winner on the night, Somizi, who took home the Golden Ear for making the most correct first guesses during the season. What a show, what a finale and what a way to wrap up a season that had Mzansi guessing, laughing and singing along for 13 weeks.
